Recording Scars & Wounds at Studio Audio, Jyväskylä, Finland (23.06.2003 - 30.07.2003)
Day 1 - 23.06.2003
First day. We loaded our equipment to the Studio Audio in Jyväskylä to make a first full length album. This is the moment we all have been waiting for. The first day was mostly just checking bass, drum and guitar sounds. After few hours it was time to start recording.
At the end, drums and bass was recorded to three songs:
- First song was quite fast hard hitting heavy metal song.
- Second one was a little bit slower.
We have played these two songs live a few times during this year. Hopefully these songs work as good in the studio as they worked in live situation.
- Third song is a slow and more complex. This is more like "album song" but this doesn't mean that we won't play this song live sometime.
- Fourth song was also recorded but the first take wasn't guite good so we try again tomorrow.
Day 2 - 24.06.2003
Whole album is now ready! No just kidding... just all drums and bass have been sweatly recorded. Eight songs total. We give you more info about these songs later on... It was a good day. We are very satisfied the progress. Nothing else special. Tomorrow we start to record guitars and maybe some vocals. Hopefully we can take some pictures from our arse fuk sessions. Hahahahahaha!
Day 3 - 25.06.2003
Our engineer Sami Kokko fixed some drum tracks at the morning. That meant few hours extra sleep for us. The day went pretty fast. The rhythm guitars were recorded to two songs and vocals for one. Jani and J-V had to run for their lives to catch a bus. Luckily they made it. Tomorrow more guitars and vocals.
Day 4 - 26.06.2003
Pretty much same shit as yesterday. Nothing special going on. Toni used several drugs to get a good voice :)
Day 5 - 27.06.2003
Rhythm guitar parts are almost ready, Jani has to play only one song. Toni has now sung vocal parts for four songs. Now we have weekend off. Also monday is free because of Iron Maiden's gig in Helsinki! On tuesday it`s time to start recording lead guitars and ofcourse more vocals. Ahh, weekend, it's time to relax, maybe few drinks...
Day 8 - 03.07.2003
It's been a busy week. we started to record on Tuesday. Jani and J-V played all melodies and solos. Only few acoustic and clean guitars are left. Toni has sung now six songs. Two more to go...

Day 12 - 08.07.2003
All the recordings are rerady! We did some additional stuff on monday and tuesday (chains and other twisted sounds and screams). Also our engineer Sami sung backing vocals to one song. Now we took few says of to rehearsal for the upcoming Tuska gig. Mixing starts next Monday.
Day 16 - 17.07.2003
The Tavastia gig on Saturday was awesome! The band had great fun on stage and ofcourse after the show, Especially J-V who was also working as a Security man at the Tuska festifal same time. Mixing started on monday. We have now got four songs almost ready. A weekend off should clean our ears for more mixing. Time to drink :)
Day 20 - 23.07.2003
Mixing is almost done. Only some minor things needs something fixing. Awesome! It's been hard but fun to do all this shit. We give you info from the songs later on in this diary. Pictures from mixing sessions will also be here next week.

Ahh. Last friday (25th) was the last studio day. The mixing was ready four days before scheduled time. On thursday mr Halford did some backing vocals and screams on one song. Here's a picture! Yet to be done is mastering and cover art. Loads of pictures are coming in few days and info about songs & lyrics. Stay in tune!
